Core Principles

Every aspect of Elvaris research is guided by a small set of core principles. These principles are not aspirational — they are practical guidelines that shape how we design experiments, evaluate results, and communicate findings.

Research First

We treat every idea as a hypothesis that must be tested. No strategy, model, or approach is accepted based on theoretical appeal alone. Everything must pass through a rigorous process of formulation, testing, and validation before being considered credible.

Evidence Over Assumptions

Historical results are evaluated against carefully defined datasets and validation procedures. We prioritize empirical evidence over theoretical elegance, and we explicitly document the assumptions underlying every analysis.

Reproducibility

Research should be understandable, inspectable, and repeatable. We believe that if research cannot be reproduced, it cannot be trusted. Every experiment should be documented well enough that an independent researcher could replicate it.

What We Avoid

• Making performance claims without supporting evidence
• Optimizing for impressive-looking backtests
• Ignoring limitations and edge cases
• Using data improperly (lookahead bias, survivorship bias)
• Presenting preliminary findings as established facts
